Boss Jock Radio Dateline: June 10th, 1970 – 39-year old Pop Singer Earl Grant was killed in a car accident in Lordsburg, New Mexico. Grant, who was greatly influenced by Nat King Cole, played piano, trumpet and drums, and augmented his income as a high school music teacher by playing gigs at various nightclubs. In 1957, he signed a recording contract with Decca records, and his first hit, “The End” peaked at #7 on Billboard’s “Hot 100.” ...
