Boss Jock Radio Dateline: October 15th, 1971 – Rick Nelson thought he was being booed for performing some new material at a Richard Nader Oldies Show at Madison Square Garden. An irritated Nelson left the stage early, but Nader convinced him to go back and perform his old songs. He did, and received thunderous applause. It was later revealed that the booing was actually because of an incident between security police and some fans. Nelson wrote a song about the experience, and the song peaked at #6 on Billboard. Boss Jock Radio Dateline: On October 14th, 1972, in true “Mad Dogs & Englishmen” style, the spasmodic Joe Cocker and six members of his touring band were arrested after performing at a concert in Adelaide, Australia, when police allegedly discovered marijuana and heroin in their hotel rooms. The following day, they were charged with assault after a fight broke out at the Commodore Chateau Hotel in Melbourne. Things became so involved and convoluted legally, that Cocker and his band were given 48 hours to leave the country, or face charges issued by Australian Federal Police. See MoreSee Less
