Among the legends celebrating birthdays this week, are the pride and joy of Philadelphia PA., BOBBY RYDELL, (April 26 – age 79) who as a teen idol soared to the top with hit tunes “Wild One,” (1960) “Good Time Baby” (1961) and his #1 “Forget Him” (1964). And, how can we forget the ever swingin’ summer of 1966, as TOMMY JAMES (April 29 – age 74) captivated us with “Hanky Panky,” on to more hits with The Shondells, and a stellar solo career. Both Bobby and Tommy are still going strong today! Others celebrating birthdays this week, that “Rebel Rouser” guitarist DUANE EDDY (April 26), and April Stevens, who had hits with her brother Nino Tempo as a vocal duo, (“Deep Purple” – 1962) turns 91, on April 29.
