In 1966, Eddie Floyd recorded a song originally intended for Otis Redding. Good thing that Eddie put his stamp on it, as it was a mega hit, and cemented his place in rock history. On June 25, he celebrates his 84th birthday.  Since his inception in the industry in 1959, as a founding member of The Falcons (who scored with “You’re So Fine, and “I Found A love,” Eddie etched quite a career.

In 2016, I was honored to be a presenter at the Carolina Beach Music awards, and work with Eddie Floyd. Backstage, he shared stories with me about being so warmly received recently in England, receiving accolades there. Later in 2017, he was inducted into the Memphis Hall Of Fame. Eddie came full circle in 2020, releasing an autobiography entitled, “Knock,Knock,Knock On Wood: My Life In Soul.”
