“Grease” …is the word!

“Mac Arthur Park,” penned by Jimmy Webb, and sung by actor RICHARD HARRIS, was a huge Top 40 smash headed up the top ten in early June 1968, and astonishing, was it’s playing time on AM Radio … clocking in at 7:20!  By the month of August, Richard was filming the movie “The Molly Maguires” in Eckley PA, which cast members included Sean Connery, Samantha Eggar, Art Lund, and others. I was fortunate to meet them and Richard on the set.

On  the day I arrived, a soccer scene was being filmed. In meeting Richard, he was very cordial, and signed my copy of his hit record (pretty exciting for me, being an 11 yr.old kid!)  In 2012, I returned to Eckley PA, to revisit the small coal mining town, which has been preserved for many years as a historic landmark. It was very eventful to see, and our tour guide took me to the exact porch where a photo session was done for Richard’s LP ‘The Yard Went On For Ever,” as I stood for a moment, at the same spot, capturing a moment in time.
