In the early 1950’s, the vocal duo of Shirley & Lee , meshed r & b, with a new sound known as rock & roll, and by 1956, their single “Let The Good Times Roll,” emphasized those words. After splitting from Leonard Lee in 1963, Shirley embarked on quite a career as an in -demand session singer. Then in 1974,
she found her way back on top of the disco ride, with a single “Shame,Shame,Shame,” (billed as ‘Shirley & Company) that peaked at #12 on Billboard. In the late 1970’s she went into retirement, and sadly passed on July 5,2005.
