In 1965, at the height of the British Invasion and the reign of Motown, BARBARA HARRIS and THE TOYS spent six weeks at #1 with “A Lovers Concerto.” This week, Barbara celebrates her 76th birthday on August 18. Back in 2015, I was honored honor to meet her, and the act in Hazleton PA. They were in top form, performed my favorite “Attack” (the follow up hit to “Concerto”) and did the best ‘girl group’ salute I’ve heard in a long time, with a medley ranging from The Bobbettes, The Chiffons to The Ronettes. The act was most impressive vocally, with some classy choreography. Barbara really is one truly talented and consummate entertainer.
